Aqoura village at the head of the Nahr Ibrahim Valley is notable for its splendid views and ancient remains. A huge panoramic breathtaking views and even the sea can be seen when weather conditions are especially good. It is not to be missed.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:
Join us and hike along the middle part of the west mountain chain “Jabal el Mnaitra” in Akoura village!
We will be climbing the mountain above that cave to hike. The trail offers many scenic spots; you will definitely enjoy your time.
This hike is LEVEL 4, and about 4.5 km long. It is mostly uphill at the beginning, straight at the middle and descendent at end. The hike starts from Akoura village. You will visit ancient historical churches and Saidet el Habs located on a peak overlooking marvelous views. Then you will descend a staircase of 600 steps and head to the entrance of the cave.
Roueiss Cave or “mgharet rwes” is the 2nd largest cave in Lebanon, it extends around 7.5 km and is the ideal cave for beginners to explore with an expert guide.
The underground formations, caves and galleries are an important component of the Lebanese natural heritage.
After lunch we will start to explore around 60 minutes of underground cave to see the beautiful natural stalactites and stalagmites; you should be equipped by spotlights. The temperature inside the cave is 16 degrees all year round; get a light jacket to keep you warm. Also, there are places where the water might get your feet wet; get a change of clothes just in case.
Water drops create a unique sort of music in the cave; it is called “Symphony of the Cave“. If you close your eyes and listen, you will hear the wonders of nature. This symphony changes according to the season.
All the necessary equipment will be provided: helmets, torches or spotlights, etc.
It will be a nice experience!

Healthy snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, lunch, water, cap, sunglasses, spotlights, and sunscreen.
