DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:
Kfarmichki is a small Lebanese town in Rachaya Governorate in the southern part of the Bekaa Valley. The name is aramic: Kfar simply means hamlet or village and the following part of the name means the village of leather, in other words the tannery village. The word leather came into the name no doubt because the leather was once worked at the village. In history, Kfarmichki is known also for wine making.
Kfarmichki is located in the heart of Wadi at-Taym overlooking Mount Hermon (Jabal El Cheikh – Jabal El Tajalli), the Sacred Mountain of Lebanon and is the last town in Bekaa before Hasbaya. There breathtaking views to be remembered forever.
Kfarmichki still have a small protected oak trees forest and known to be very clear and welcoming. During our hike, we will pass by beautiful landscapes, its rich in remains of ancient civilizations; you will remark sarcophagi, old historic churches, Oak trees, rock shelters, old grape, olive presses, many Nawawiss carved in the rock and the ancient temple of En-Nabi Safa.
Besides the Hermon Mountain, you will see also a big plain planted with grape trees during the hike in this trail. Cereal crops are grown and there are fields with fruit trees of many kinds, particularly cherry trees.

Ancient temple of En-Nabi Safa: This Roman temple has connection with a group of sanctuaries on Mount Hermon. It is supposed that the temple was once used as a sanctuary dedicated to the prophet Safa, the Pure, descendant of Jacob. Little record of the prophet Safa remains, although it was said that “The honorable body is there, and the spirit is always to be found there. Any day that a man seeks him he will find him, it depends on his fait”.
