|Dale Corazon – Lebanon Explorers is proud to organize his second Stargazing event in collaboration with USJ astronomy club at one of the most enchanting locations in Lebanon: ‘’ L’étoile des Cèdres’’ You will be a part of an unforgettable experience for this season. Yes, you will have the chance to explore the outdoor life and challenge yourself out of your comfort zone.
CAMP LOCATION : Arz Tannourine – Slayeb/ Batroun / In the North
============== 1800 meters above sea level.
99 km from Beirut.
WHEN : Saturday 13 and Sunday 14, July, 2019
ENCOUNTER PLACES : Mar Maroun Church Parking, Dora.
—- On Saturday 13, @ 16:30 PM: Those who are coming by bus or by car (camping & Stargazing event)
: Arz Tannourine – L’étoile des cèdres
—- On Sunday 14, @ 9:30 AM :Those who are coming by car (hiking event)
For this event, you can participate to the whole weekend or only participate in the second day for the hiking activity:
1)20$/person for Stargazing, including: Telescope observations, campfire food, insurance, and pictures (By Car).
1)30$/person for Stargazing, including: Transport, Telescope observations, campfire food (roasted potatoes, corn), insurance, and pictures.
2)40$/person for the whole weekend, including: Telescope observations, campfire food (roasted potatoes, corn), homemade breakfast, hiking event, entrance fee to Cedars Reserve, guides, insurance, 5 minutes warming up, stretching and pictures.
P.S: you can bring your tent.
3)50$/person for the whole weekend, including, accommodation, Telescope observations, campfire food at night like roasted potatoes and corn, homemade breakfast, hiking event, entrance to the reserve, guides, insurance, 5 minutes warming up, stretching and pictures.
4) For Sunday: 25,000 LL per person including, professional guides, insurance, entrance fee to Cedars Reserve, guides, insurance, 5 minutes warming up, stretching and pictures.
Children 18 years old and younger will have a discount (20,000 LL per person)
Every 5 coupons can be exchanged for a free hiking trip or
Groups of 4 and plus get a discount of 25%/pers. (20,000 LL per person) including the entrance fee.

Stargazing and night photography
Day 1: ‘’ L’étoile des cèdres’’ Arz Tannourine: one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon.
Get ready for a night full of wonder with the USJ Astronomy Club!
We will leave the meeting point at 16.30 Pm Dora. After reaching the location, we will pitch our tents, put the luggage, have some rest. Those who want can watch the sunset in this particular area that offers amazing views.
We will spend the night there, enjoy a clear sky full of stars and end the night by a cozy gathering around the campfire to have dinner of roasted potatoes, corn… and boiled tea. Of course there will be a snack near us where you can by homemade mankoushe.
Together we will leave our home planet and launch into an adventure taking us from our neighboring planets to far reaches of the Universe.
21h – 22h: Meeting our Neighbors: Telescope observations of Jupiter and Saturn
22h – 23h: A tour of the stars and constellations: The story of our night sky
23h – 00h: Astronomy Talk: A Voyage into the Vastness of the Universe
00h – 01h: Telescope observations of the moon + our guides are available for your questions
Then return to Beirut by bus how chooses the Stargazing event only.
Day 2: Arz Tannourine – “Fantastic forest of majestic cedar trees”
Next day, we will enjoy a traditional homemade breakfast, make a small tour in the area of Arz Tannourine, solar observation through our solar filter, then wait the other group to come from Beirut and start our hiking together in a trail full of Cedars. The amazing scenery that your eyes catch upon reaching these amazing landscapes is indescribable.
HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous
LEVEL 4 (5 KM) is an easy and wonderful trail. The stunning mountainous landscape, with cedars seemingly defying gravity and growing on extremely vertical slopes, is impressive. You will be able to see rare types of flowers particular to this high altitude terrain. The scenery is just great. We will have our lunch under Ayoub Tree.
LEVEL 5 (about 10 km) is harder and suitable for professionals only. It consists of ascending trails that requires good physical competencies. You will meet with level 4 for lunch under Ayoub Tree. You will have minimal time for rest and photo sessions.
After lunch everyone will go to visit an old Crusade church Mar Chalita.
You can’t buy happiness! But you can buy a Tent.
WHAT TO TAKE:
Healthy snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, lunch, water, cap, sunglasses, sunscreen and toilet essentials with Sleeping bag-pillow (for camping). Don’t forget to get a jacket. Wear comfortable walking shoes, preferably hiking shoes (Professional brand is recommended). DC members get a 20% discount on sports equipment in Sports 4 Ever branches.
