DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:
========================

The old village of Qanat Bakish is worth visiting as it is one of the best-preserved towns in Lebanon, keeping most of its original architecture and green spaces, a hidden treasure worth discovering. Its ski resort is well known for the quality of its snow and it is visited by skiers of all levels who enjoy the non-crowded slopes. The first ski lift was built in 1967, and since then, the resort has been developing to host more skiers, especially with the opening of a new road between Faqra resort and Qanat Bakish.
The Cross of All Nations, a monumental cross located in this area: it was built near a church dating back to 1898 on a land that belongs to the Lebanese Maronite Order.
At 73.8 meters (242 ft) tall and 37 metres wide, the Cross of All Nations is the largest illuminated cross in the world, it was inaugurated on September 13, 2010 on the eve of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross.
So, we will head up to this lovely white mountain and we aim to enjoy those wonderful views and spend very good moments with the group.

There will be two levels of difficulty:
Level 3: will be an easy walk, around 6KM (2hours), with very light ascents and descents. You will have enough time to rest, take pictures and contemplate the white scenery.
Level 5: is a bit harder with longer ascents, but not steep ones. This level is strictly for advanced walkers for about 9KM (3 hours). You will be able to enjoy the fresh air and the great white landscape.
Both levels will meet for lunch and visit the Cedars up in the mountain.
