Kfour/ Ftouh Keserwan / Mount Lebanon. One of the most traditional villages.

The village nestled in the heart of Ftouh Keserwan are located in Keserwan District just 33 kilometers from the capital Beirut towards North, on an elevation of 750 – 900 above sea level. Numerous magnificent landscapes to be enjoyed during our hike absolutely approving that this is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in our treasured Lebanon.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

Kfour is a Lebanese village that overlooks the bay of Jounieh.

Most of the trail we will pass by, are known for its pine trees that surround the village, and embrace the cedars, oaks, and olive trees while hiking and the unique rocks.

The name of the village goes back to the Syriac, similarly to a large number of Lebanese villages, meaning the plural of Kafr, or the large assembly of houses.

We will walk in the narrow streets to see some old landmarks, such as the old olive trees, water springs, and the old churches.

Will see the production of cider (apple-based juice) in one of the old cider companies and will walk towards the old silk factory next to Ain Breich. This place represents the best image of the old lifetime in Lebanon.

HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous.

The trail will start from “Rass ElKnisse” know as ICN where will see a panoramic view the whole Gulf of Jounieh and Beirut cityscape can be seen,  later will visit the old library of the historian, Father Youssef Abi Saab, then we will begin walking down through the pine and oak forest into a magnificent tunnel, and our hike will be divided to two levels:

Level 4 Around 8 Km, will take a mostly downhill easy path with beautiful landscapes. On our way, we will witness also old houses, 5 water springs (Source Breich, Mikhael, El Kroum, Sefsafi and Henbles), going down on a stone stair then walking into a dry river path till arriving to the picnic place where the tables and benches awaiting us, sitting near a water spring under the trees.

Level 6 Around 13 km, from the village as level 4 to the picnic area where we will split into both groups per level. Will take uphill trail to get to the top of the hill to watch panoramic views at Deir Mar Georges.

Kfour’s hike is not just a hike in a very beautiful nature, along streams, ponds, huge trees, and breathtaking views. It is a cultural tour as well.

Protect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions:

   Distancing from each other is a must.

   Cover your nose and mouth with your face masks. To keep it on, while we are in the bus.  

   Clean your hands often by using hand gel or other.

Healthy snacks that will boost up your energy such as dried fruits, lunch, water, MEDICAL FACE MASKS, HAND GEL, cap, sunglasses and sunscreen.
