DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

This time our hike will be in Bcharre in North Lebanon. We will make a tour of the reserve of Arz Rab, one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon. It was nominated, along with the cave of Jeita, to become one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

The name Bekaa Kafra comes from Syriac and means “Flat spot and the village that has a municipal council”. It is the birth town of Saint Charbel.

HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous

LEVEL 4 plus You will take the path leading to Bekaa Kafra, it’s an easy and beautiful trail of just 10 KM – 3,5 Hrs approx. – Altitude is 1900m to1650m. You will also be able to see rare views particular to this altitude terrain. Unesco classified it as a typical traditional Lebanese village. It is one of the highest villages in Lebanon; It is a must to see. You will visit Mar Charbel’s house, and many landmarks of the village. Lunch will be somewhere along the way from Arz Bcharre to Bekaa Kafra.
