This 🥾new hike in Batroun villages is diversified. You will walk the ⛰ mountains between 🏺 Phoenicians temples overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, it offers a very unique 🔭 scene in all directions; Syria, Cyprus, and Lebanon can be easily viewed from there. The amazing scenery that your eyes 📷 catch upon reaching these 🌿 amazing landscapes is indescribable.
This hike is not just a hike in a very beautiful nature, along 💧 streams, 💦 ponds, old huge trees, and breathtaking views. It is a 🧺 cultural tour as well.

📜 DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

Assia is a village in the middle of Batroun known for its 🪆 handcrafted pottery. It is rich in remains of ⚱️ancient civilizations; you can see sarcophagi, 💒 old historical churches and old grape and 🫒 olive presses. Assia has many 💧 springs and 💦 water ponds like Saidet el Qalaa Pond.

🌿As per the historian Mr. Philip, the origin of the name Bashali is Syriac and it means “rest stop” in Arabic.
Bchealeh is rich with ancient sacred olive🌳 trees aged thousands of years (aprox.4000 years) and includes many of the monuments that are in need of exploration to shed light on the above epochs, like Kal3et El Hosn built with large stones located in the northeast of the village and many⚱️ Nawawiss carved in the rock, in addition to multiple 🏛 Greek writings and Roman coins found there which confirms that this region was the intent of many ancient peoples.

You will start the 🥾hike in Bche3leh and then go to Ras el Talleh to visit the cross. The view 🌫 from up there is breathtaking! It is not to be missed. Afterward, will proceed to Bechtoudar crossing 🏛 ‘AL Hosn Fort’; there, will enjoy the fresh air and 🔭 watch the beautiful scenery. It’s an amazing trail, where will visit 💒 “Deir Mar Yaacoub” (Jacobo Monastery). Then, will continue to 💒 Mar Sarkiss and Bakhoss (Old Temple), followed by a visit to 💒 Mar Touma via a pedestrian trail with breathtaking views to remember forever.

the 🚶 trail leads you to Saidet el Qalaa Pond, also known as The Lady of the Fortress Pond, and the great 💦 waterfall – the most beautiful sight you’ll encounter, where the pond maintains the same water level throughout the year.
🌿🥾 HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, and 7 to 9 for strenuous.
Our hike will be divided into 2 levels.
🥈 Level 5: The track around 11 Km is uphill downhill and requires some physical ability; hikers should be able to walk long distances to take this level.
🥇 Level 4: It will be a moderate hike of around 8 Km; there will be enough time to rest, take pictures and contemplate the views. This level is suitable for those who enjoy nature and don’t want to exhaust themselves.

The hidden treasures and beauty of Lebanon are yet to be unveiled.
