DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:

The hike will take place at ‘’ El-Jouwar’’, Tannourine El Fawqa. We will have many reasons to keep our cameras handy, there will be scenes to cherish forever.

The impressive remains of a Phoenician – Roman temple and old village built on ancient foundations still dominate the scene, giving a view over Tannourine.

Level 4 (5.5 KM – 2.0 Hours) is an easy and pleasing trail. We will start from “Qilaa El-Borj”, and discover one of the treasures of Lebanon. The trail passes through “Sikket Al Sham”, an ancient road that was used to join the coast to the Bekaa Valley, to Damascus and then to El-Jouwar with an uphill and downhill trail for about 50 m only where amazing forest rich in flora and fauna exists. Then we will continue the second part of our path of 1 km, crossing many ruins of old houses and Hadrian’s inscriptions till we arrive to upper top view of Tannourine, Kfour el-Arbe, Niha, Batriarkiie Cedars and Nahr El-Jawz at Qornet El-Ribaz. There we will enjoy the fresh air and watch the beautiful summer sunset. The stunning mountainous landscape, with extremely vertical slopes, is impressive. The scenery is just great. We will come back by another straight trail.

After finishing the trail, we will gather near a bonfire at Qilaa El Borj Phoenician temple and we will have the opportunity to taste and eat manaqish 3a saj prepared by local villagers.

This sunset hike is not to be missed. It will imprint unforgettable memories of a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

   Clean your hands often by using hand gel or other.
