A walk to the sanctuary located on the steep cliff overlooking the camp is a must to see. We will see as well the Cedars Memorial Forest (Tabriyeh Memorial) and then go down to visit “Sanctuary St Marina” and reach “Our Lady of Fortress” (Saidet El Kalaa) in Chahtoul. \nThe main feature of Raachine and Chahtoul is the beautiful rock formations spread throughout the villages. The “40 martyrs” mountain was named following a 13th-century battle between the Crusaders and Salaheddin El-Ayoubi. It’s one of the Al-Makmel mountain series\, which rises 2000 meters above sea level. \n  \nIt’s one of the most beautiful hikes that will leave wonderful pictures in your memory. There is the HIGHEST SWING IN THE MIDDLE EAST! \n  \nHIKING LEVEL: 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous. \nOur hike will be divided into 3 levels: \n  \nLEVEL 3 (Approx. 1hr.) It’s a tour and visit to the suspension bridge and the swing. \n  \nLEVEL 4 (Approx. 2.5 hr. around 7 Km) It’s a loop trail\, it will be an easy walk: the first part is uphill\, the next one is at a hilltop overlooking great views. The lunch will be there on the top then downhill to the bridge where we will get back to the bus. In this hike\, we will have many reasons to keep our cameras handy. From the moment we start hiking until the moment we stop\, there will be scenes that we want to cherish forever. \n  \nLEVEL 5 (Approx. 3.5 hr. around 12 Km) The stunning mountainous landscape\, with the bridge and the swing seemingly defying gravity on extremely vertical slopes\, is impressive. The path is like level 4 with an extra 1 hour ascending and descending an exciting trail that requires more physical effort. The trail about ends up at 1750m. It will be nice to contemplate views at this altitude. \nThe town of Aito has some old ruins\, such as an old tower and a temple. Above the temple stands the Monastery of Saint Simon (Al Amoudi) indicating that this land was a Phoenician place of worship. \nHIKING LEVEL: 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous \nOur hike will be divided into 2 levels: \n  \nLEVEL 5 intermediate level (13.5 Km approx.) will start from Deir Mar Semaan. There\, you can take your time and visit the monastery\, as well as St. Rafqa hermitage and museum. The first part of the trail will all be in a huge pine forest. The second part will be on the side of the deep valley of Qadisha which will lead us to Deir Hamatoura. To get to the bus\, we will use the old stairs of the Monastery to get down. This abbey is the “Guardian of the City“. It is built on rocks overlooking great views. The church is the most ancient part\, dating back to the 4th century. \n  \nLEVEL 4 (Approx. 6 Km) From Ayto village to Karm Saddeh\, it will be an easy walk: the first part is downhill\, and the next one is beside the river at Deir Hamatoura. In this hike\, you will have many reasons to keep your cameras handy. From the moment you will start hiking until the moment you stop\, there will be scenes that you want to cherish forever. The second part will begin in the valley by the Company of Electricity in Kousba (hydraulic electric power station). From there you will cross the river of Holy Valley and take an uphill stony staircase that will lead you to Hamatoura Monastery. \n  \nGreek Orthodox Monks will accommodate you and offer you an explanation about the convent’s history\, lifestyle\, and mission. Jezzine is known as the “city of falls” because of its famous waterfall\, the Jezzine Falls (40 m high). With regard to traditional handicrafts\, the town is famous for its handcrafted knives and other cutlery made of inlaid mosaics and bone. Many historians believe that Jezzine served as a storing location for traders because of its strategic location on the caravan route that connected the ancient port city of Sidon to the Chouf\, the Beqaa Valley\, and to Syria \n  \nBkassine is a charming peaceful village gifted by nature with a large and exquisite pine forest\, covering an area of 1 million square meters\, making it the largest pine forest in Lebanon. It is also the last pine forest to the south of Turkey. \n  \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous. \nLevel 6 will walk from the intersection and go through the breathtaking pine forest of Bkassine\, the walk in the forest is uphill and quite long. The track will lead you to Dhour el Ramleh to see the waterfall of Jezzine\, Niha\, and the Chouf region. From there\, you will continue toward the cliff and then go straight toward a pine forest until you arrive at Rommaneh where there are huge oak trees. The lunch will be there. \n  \nLevel 4 will have a shorter walk in the pine forest. Then from there\, you will go to Dhour El Ramleh\, and will get the feeling of being on top of the world! And you will walk along the same track as level 6. \n  \nYou will visit the village of Jezzine starting from the water source of Jezzine\, and you will see how the water is coming out of the tunnel that goes deep inside the mountain. From there to the souk and if we are lucky\, you will visit the cutlery workshop and see how they are made. You will walk to the piazza of Jezzine and then to “Our Lady Church” overlooking the spectacular simultaneous sea and mountain views. \nJezzine’s hike is not just a hike in very beautiful nature\, along streams\, ponds\, huge trees\, souk\, and breathtaking views. The origin of the name Falougha is Syriac and means “divide” symbolizing the two winter rivers that divide the village. \nThe 19th-century French poet\, novelist\, and statesman Alphonse De Lamartine visited Lebanon and spent some time in Hammana. He described the town and its surrounding valley as “one of the most beautiful prospects ever presented to the human eye to scan in the works of God“. \nThe hike will take place near the amazing lakes. We will have many reasons to keep our cameras handy\, there will be scenes to cherish forever.\n\n\nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous \nLevel 4 (around 7.5 KM – 3.0 Hours approx.) is an easy and pleasing trail. \nOur trail will start from the pine forest of Falougha\, passes between the very known water ponds\, and descend to the top of a hill to see a panoramic view. We continue our hike passing by Sohat spring water bottling plant to visit the first Lebanese Flag That was raised in 1943. We will hike through a Cedar Forest leading to the most picturesque spot at Lamartine Rock where the famous French poet\, Lamartine\, used to sit and get inspired. There we will enjoy the fresh air and watch the beautiful summer sunset. The stunning mountainous landscape\, with extremely vertical slopes\, is impressive. The scenery is just great. \nAfter finishing the trail\, we will gather near a bonfire at Falougha village and we will have the opportunity to take a boiling tea and test roasted potatoes cooked by local villagers. \nThis sunset hike is not to be missed. It is carved into the rock of a cliff overlooking the entire plain of Bisri and Awwaly river. Emir Fakhreddine found refuge in the fortress with his family before his execution in 1635. \nIn addition\, Fakhreddine introduced the manufacturing of heavy weapons to the Lebanese people. He also built and renovated more than fortresses and castles Fakhreddine succeeded in opening up Lebanon to the West. \n  \n  \nThen we will go to the Nabi Ayoub site (the Prophet’s job) where popular tradition says as a result of his illness\, the Prophet’s job emigrated from Houran with his wife and settled on a mountaintop in Niha where he recovered. You will see the oldest cedar tree aged 3000 years\, and a beautiful tree Lamartine (or Sawma’a). \nLEVEL 3 (trail of 1 hour approximately) will take the bus from there to the entrance of Arz Barouk.  You can take a lot of unforgettable pictures there. The scenery is great! \nLEVEL 4 (about 8 km) will head to Arz Barouk (Crow Track). From Masief el Mir\, you’ll descend another road (Hoopoe track) to the beautiful Artificial lake where you will meet level 3 under Khitiara Tree. We will get the chance to walk the valley along the riverbank of Nahr El Jawz on a road dated back to the Roman Empire\, where we can take a lot of unforgettable pictures. \nTannourine is home to over 17 villages such as Tannourine el Fawqa\, Wata Houb\, el Wadi\, Tannourine el Tahta\, and many other wonderful villages. \nWe will visit the old Crusade church aged more than 1000 years and then start our hiking journey. \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous \nThere will be divided into three levels: \nOur hiking for level 4: it’s downhill\, an easy and beautiful trail of just 7 KM. From the old church\, we will continue along a trail leading to old mills\, then to the river. We will also be able to see rare views particular to this altitude terrain. The stunning mountainous landscape\, with cedars and pine forests seemingly defying gravity and growing on extremely vertical slopes\, is impressive; the scenery is great. \nAfter crossing Wata Houb the scenery changes from this stage. We will pass through a dense forest of different kinds of trees\, giving the impression of being in a jungle. Will be charmed above all by the trees along the river banks and the walnut trees which grow in preference close to the water and which have given the river its name. \nThe track will take us to “Tannourine Natural Spring Mineral Water” in El Wadi village; Maybe will visit the company and benefit from an explication of all the processes of water production. \nOur lunch will be under oak trees near the riverbank at El Wadi village. \n  \nThen we will continue with level 5 (just 12 KM) from the village of El Wadi and head towards the river bank until we reach the bridges and mills of Tannourine Tahta village at Tahoun Bassa. Then by bus will join level 6. \n  \nLevel 6 (16 Km) will continue at Darb El Naher to Kfarhelda village\, crossing the amazing waterfall\, and old mills\, discovering cave churches and taking a lot of pictures. \nOn our way back to Beirut\, we may stop in Batroun to drink fresh Lemonade. (12 $/person) \nMake your group of 5 persons (& more) and get a 20% discount (11$ per person). \n  \n  \nDESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT: \n=======================                                                                                      \nQadisha\, one of the deepest and most beautiful valleys in Lebanon\, is indeed a world apart.  “Qozhaya” is of Syriac origin and means “the treasure of Life“.  The Monastery of Qozhaya (Deir Mar Antonios Qozhaya – دير مارانطﻮنيوﺱ ﻗﺰحيا) sits on the opposite flank of the Qadisha from Qannoubin Monastery; it was first built at the beginning of the fourth century. It was several times looted\, set on fire and razed to the ground\, but there still remain vestiges dating back to the seventh century. \nThe Monastery is truly a national center of prayer\, pilgrimage and tourism. It comprises a corridor\, meeting room\, museum and chapel\, with a mill and a number of hermitages cut into the rock nearby. The story of the Monastery is the story of the Christians in Lebanon and in the Middle East\, the story of cultural\, economical\, social and political development in the Lebanese society and in the region.\nAfter about 1700 years\, the Monastery continues to be a sign of faith and an expression of behavior. \nIt must be mentioned here that the Monastery of Qozhaya possesses a library containing archives\, scholarly compendia and Syriac manuscripts. The first printing press in the Middle East (1584) was placed in this Monastery which still has the Scepter of St Louis\, the King of France (1226-1270). \nAll the above-mentioned wealth\, whether natural or cultural\, pushed the UNESCO to register Monastery of St. Anthony Qozhaya on the list of International Patrimony under the number 850. \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous. \nLEVEL 4 (around 7 km) will start from Bane village. After the visit\, you will take a downhill easy trail for about 300 m. From there\, we will continue our path of 3 km downhill the valley\, the track cuts through a bushy forest\, crossing waterfalls and many ruins of old houses and hermitages till we arrive to the Monastery of Qozhaya where you will take your lunch break. From there you will take the bus to join level 6 at Fraydis village. \nLEVEL 5 (around12 km) After the visit to the Monastery\, you will have a long downhill hike for about 200 meters\, seeing old cave churches. The trail will continue to Fraydis where you meet the other group at the village and continue together. Along the way we will visit Nabi Hadwan\, a walk to the sanctuary located on the steep cliff is a must to see. We will see as well the old juniper trees and then go down to visit a great and ancient temple located near the waterfall and the impressive Afqa Grotto. There\, ritual prostitution was practiced until the time of Constantine in Afqa village. \nThe main feature of Lassa and Afqa is the beautiful rock formations spread throughout the villages. We get to walk on an agricultural road along the mountain cliff “Chir El Jalse” overlooking the spectacular simultaneous sea and mountain\, reach in breathtaking views. \nWe will end the hike at Afqa Grotto and the waterfall. Then will continue down to the river bank near another waterfall and pond beneath a Roman ridge for lunch\, relax under the shade of the trees and enjoy the sound of water. A part of the water is pumped for domestic use in Batroun and the region. But you will be charmed above all\, by the various types of trees along the river banks\, especially the walnut trees that grow in preference close to the water and which have given the river its name. There\, we will have our lunch. \nHistorically\, Nahr El Jawz valley was the only possible way through which armies could reach Batroun and for that reason fortress of Msaylha was built by Emir Fakhredine II in the 17th century to protect Batroun from enemy attacks. \nThe valley offers a varied landscape and it’s considered one of the most enchanting for hiking in Batroun Caza. \n  \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous. \n  \nDue to the topography of the ground and walking beside the river\, you are bound to descend and ascend minor slopes\, so the hike will be a Level 4 (9.5 Km)\, it will be easy. \nThe trail offers many scenic spots and adventure. You will start walking from Mseilha Fortress and head towards the riverbank on a water channel with amazing scenery of the Spring magical touch on the trees in the valley until you reach the bridge of Boxmaya village. The bus will then take you to Kfarhay to visit St. Maroun Monastery. \n  \nLEVEL 5 (13Km) you will start from Batroun village club\, a wonderful walk along its river bank will include some adventurous passages along the border of the water canal to meet level 4 at Mseilha Fortress. Together will continue along a trail leading to old mills and old stone bridges\, then you will head up to reach St. Maroun Monastery at Kfarhay village. \n  \nMar Youhanna Maroun (St. John Maron) was the first Maronite Patriarch (702-710). During his mandate\, the Maronites moved from Syria to Lebanon and made Kfarhay the Patriarchal Seat until 938 when it moved to Yanouh. At this time of the year\, the color of trees and plants\, and the springs with the river are extremely impressive.     \nSo\, this hike in Kabb Elias is diversified. Will make a quick visit to Haidar ruins\, the Nabatean Tomb or Haidara ruins are believed to date back to the Roman era. According to local legend\, there was once a mirror on the face of the building that used to reflect sunlight down into the village\, related to sun-worshiping Roman practices. \nThe Fakhr ad-Din II Castle is believed to have been one of the largest castles in the Beqaa Valley. It is also thought to have been built by the Druze prince Fakhr ad-Din II\, who chose the location for its elevation and defensibility against potential assaults by the Ottoman military. The castle was eventually destroyed by the Ottomans\, but the ruins remain. \nOur visit will begin from the Domaine de Chouchene where a warm and friendly greeting from the team\, accompanied by a presentation of the trail. \nHIKING LEVEL: 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous \nThe hike will be divided into two levels: \nLevel 5 (12 km\, approx. 3:30Hr) On our trail we’ll see 4 old watermills from ancient times till we reach the spring called “Ras El-Ein” via Wazal road\, we’ll see Assyrian terraces from 3000 years\, we’ll refill cold water from nabe3 El-3ajouz spring than heading to see Wadi El- Dalam\, we’ll reach the valley via stairs\, we’ll walk beside the river and waterfalls to reach the French bridge at the end of the valley\, we’ll return via loop to reach another spring to take a short break then heading back to Prince Fakhreddine Castle at the top of the village where we can see near the cross panoramic view\, the Beqaa valley and mount Hermon. Finally\, we’ll go back to the Domaine via 340 stairs between the old houses in the village. \nLevel 4 (5 km\, approx. 2:30Hr) will start from the Domaine de Chouchene\, will see 4 watermills\, Ras El-3ein spring to fill fresh cold water\, Assyrian terraces\, and the waterfall. 3ajouz spring will be waiting for us\, at the top where we can see a very old house from 500 hundred years facing Prince Fakherddine Castle\, we cross the river on a steel bridge to see a roman tomb called Al Tannour. Finally\, we go back towards the remains of Prince Fakhreddine Castle then near the village cross where we see the Bekaa valley from the top of the village. We reach the Domaine via 340 stairs between old houses. \nLunch will be in the vicinity. \nThen we will head to Chateau Heritage Winery in Kabb-Elias to visit the cave\, taste wine\, and meet the local habitants. \nQabb-Elias’s hike is not just a hike in very beautiful nature\, along streams\, old landmarks\, souk\, and breathtaking views. A theater\, modeled on Greek-Roman prototypes\, had space for an audience of 4\,000. Today\, the Palace Tombs of Petra\, with the 42-meter-high Hellenistic temple facade on the El- Deir Monastery\, are impressive examples of Middle Eastern culture.   \n    \nThe seven-kilometer walk can also be covered in the Nabataea fashion on a Horses back. \n  \nA visit to Wadi Rum. Here you shall take a rustic jeep safari in the silent\, timeless and starkly beautiful desert landscapes. Wadi Rum is a protected area covering 720 square kilometers of dramatic desert wilderness in the south of Jordan. A huge panoramic breathtaking view and even the sea can be seen when weather conditions are especially good. It is not to be missed. \nYanouh\, once a Phoenician center\, is halfway between Byblos and Baalbek\, their Phoenician temple\, is a monument to the same religion as that of Apheca\, but the later Roman temple was dedicated to Diana\, the Roman goddess of the hunt and daughter of the god Jupiter. \nYanouh is known for its 2nd century CE Roman temple\, its Byzantine basilica\, and medieval chapel. In 750 AD\, at the time of the fifth Maronite patriarch\, John Maron II\, then installed in Yanouh\, the Roman temple was converted into a church consecrated to Saint George The blue. Between 750 and 1277\, twenty-three successors of Patriarch John Maroun resided there; under the Crusades\, the number of Yanouh’s inhabitants had risen to 3500\, Yanouh is also notable for its Hellenistic cult building containing the earliest Aramic inscription found in Lebanon. it mentions a “House of God” and was dated to around 110-109 BCE. \nTell el Kharayeb (“Hill of Ruins”) remains in Yanouh date back to the third millennium BCE; these include a town of about 150 meters in diameter\, surrounded by a defensive wall and a lower urban quarter extending towards the south of the site. \n  \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous \nOur hike will be divided into 3 levels. \nThis hike is easy for LEVEL 6 and is about 12 km long. The hike starts at Akoura village\, the trail is mostly straight and uphill at the beginning\, straight in the middle\, and descendent and straight at the end. You will visit many ancient historical churches\, Mar Saba\, Mar Geryes\, Mar Botros\, Mar Semaan (Roman temple)\, and the Roman road. You will visit Saydet el Habs located upon the peak overlooking marvelous views like in Harissa\, you will get the feeling of being on top of the world! Then you will descend a staircase of 600 steps and walk through an apple orchard\, then head to the Ozor forest of Mar Edna. We will have lunch there\, later will visit the ancient nun’s monastery and descend a Phoenician Roman dirty road and walk through an apple orchard\, to reach the Ozor forest of Tell El Kharyeb. There will meet with the level 4 and will explore the Phoenician\, Greek\, and Roman Temples and the ancient Saydet Yanoun Church ام الله. \nLEVEL 4\, is about 8 km long. The same trail as level 6 but after visiting the ancient nun’s monastery\, will separate and will join by bus the other at Yanouh Temples and will explore our treasure. \nIf you prefer an easier hike LEVEL 3\, you have the possibility to stay at Saydet el Habs after the visit so you will have enough time to contemplate charming horizons at this altitude and you will have lunch there. The word ‘Niha’ means a place of rest\, as it was once the Roman emperor’s summer place in Baalbeck. Niha is known for the 4 citadels dating back to the Roman Empire were constructed between the 1st and 3rd century AD\, with some even further back to the Byzantine and Phoenician eras. The citadels are grand\, which can be compared to those at Baalbeck\, albeit on a smaller scale. \n  \nThe hike will begin from Niha where we will visit the well-preserved lower temple. \nAfter this\, we will divide into two groups: easy and intermediate. \n  \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous/advanced \n  \nLevel 5 (approx. 3:30Hr) will continue to walk a bit uphill until they reach the upper temple El Hosn of Niha\, which is still upright but in very good condition. Stunning panoramic views of the Bekaa valley can be enjoyed from up there. Then the trail becomes a downhill walk all the way to Ferzol. \n  \nOnce in Ferzol\, we will all go to Al-Habis to see ancient ruins and caves dating from the Canaanite\, Phoenician and Roman eras. The ruins are from a prehistoric empire that has been carved into the mountain as Cappadocia in Turkey\, famous for allegedly housing all the gold treasures of that empire! It occupies the site of ancient Emesa\, which contained a great temple to the Sun God El Gebal (Aramaic; Latin: Elagabalus; Greek: Heliogabalus). Emesa was ruled by a line of priest-kings throughout the Roman Empire\, and two of its nobility rose to become emperor\, Elagabalus and Severus Alexander. \nHoms is the third most important city in Syria. Like Petra and Palmyra. It was also the third station on the “Silk route” after Doura Europos and Palmyra. It was taken in 636 by the Muslims\, who renamed it Homs (Ḥimṣ)\, and the city’s large Christian element was eliminated during the rebellion of 855\, when the churches were demolished and the Christians executed or deported. Homs is situated in a fertile agricultural region that produces wheat\, corn (maize)\, millet\, cotton\, fruits\, and vegetables. The city has thus become a thriving agricultural market center; its local handicrafts\, which include jewelry\, belts\, and cloaks\, are also well-known. It still retains this position of importance today\, as the oil pipelines pass through the city. \nMany churches still stand in Homs from the days of early Christianity in Syria. One of these churches Um El-Zennar cave church 59 A.C. is possess the Holy Girdle of the Blessed Virgin. The church of St. Elian (St. Julian the Martyr and Unmercenary) a native of Emesa (now Homs)\, who was martyred for his refusal to renounce Christianity in 284 A.D at the hands of his father\, a Roman officer. These bear inscriptions in Greek and Arabic with frescoes date to at least the 12th century\, but it is widely believed to date to the 6th century\, making them the oldest surviving church paintings in Syria. \nThe Nuri mosque also dates back to the 12th century\, distinguished for its beautiful entrance. The pine forest surrounds it and provides the perfect setting for a quiet Sunday away from the noise and pollution of the city. \n  \nBkassine is gifted by nature with a large and exquisite pine forest\, covering an area of 1 million square meters\, making it the largest pine forest in Lebanon. It is also the last pine forest to the south of Turkey. \nIt is a traditional Lebanese town with red-tile roof houses and narrow streets.  \nBkassine municipality has assumed responsibility for the protection and maintenance of the forest. Some of the trails offer breathtaking views of Wadi Jezzine and the Bisri Valley. \n  \nHIKING LEVEL: 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous. \nBkassine is a wonderful place for hiking; our hike will be divided into 2 levels: \nLevel 3 (approx.5 km) will be an easy and beautiful hike. The trail is in the shade of pine trees where views of Jezzine\, the waterfall\, Niha and the Chouf region can be seen. You will go then by bus to walk in Bkassine village\, discover the great landmarks and take a lot of pictures. \nLevel 5 is a beautiful and amazing walking trail uphill and downhill of 10KM approx.\, you will continue along a downhill trail leading to an old mill\, then to the river. You will also be able to see rare views particular to this altitude terrain. The scenery is great and will change at every point you reach. You will pass through a dense forest of different kinds of trees\, giving the impression of being in a jungle. The track will take you to a “Fougere” bush that is dense and about 2 meters high. You will see two small caves intended for prayer on the way. In the end\, you will meet with level 3 at the oil press in the village for lunch. \nAfter lunch\, you will stop by a local villager to buy Bkassine pine nuts produced from this forest. Then you will take the bus to the impressive waterfall of Jezzine. The scenery is great; the scenery is really beyond description. They then pour into a lake lying at an altitude of 1375m with no other exit than a large sluice at the end of the valley so enclosed\, where one sees another small lake with clear limpid waters lying just 3km south of the other and known as “Zeineiyyeh”. \n  \nThe Yammouneh valley represents a geologic fracture between the two continents of Asia and Africa along the eastern Mediterranean. The fresh water at this elevation and location constitutes a special ecosystem for animals (fish\, reptiles\, birds)\, and plants (junipers\, abies\, cupressus and cedars). \n  \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous \nThere will be two levels:  \nLEVEL 4 (approx. 2\,30Hr); will start from the end of Yammouneh\, walking along the cliff overlooking the entire plain of Yammouneh. You will see a beautifully built tree-house. In our trail you can take a lot of unforgettable pictures. Then they will head down to the water source; a wonderful waterfall indeed. \n  \nLEVEL 5 (approx. 3\,30Hr); consists of ascending trails at the beginning that requires good physical competencies and walking stick. You will start with the other group and head up to the cliff. From there\, you’ll head straight than down to the village\, meet with level 4 for lunch at the garden. You will have minimal time for rest and photo sessions. \n  \nOur lunch will be in the village in a beautiful garden facing the waterfall. \nOn our return to Beirut\, our visit will be in Deir el Ahmar to “Saydet Bechwat”. \nDiversified…? The magnificent green forest mixed with oak\, pine and many other plant species makes the valley one of the best in the world. \nAwwali River is located between Mount Lebanon and the South; Bisri River is a part of it. Our walk beside it is just amazing. The scenery will definitely mark our minds and souls with its colorful\, fresh and beautiful nature all day long. \nWe will walk a splendid trail beside the river; we will see very old olive trees. We will cross many bridges; the most famous one is the Roman Stairway and will go across a Roman passage of striking beauty inside the cliff and then we will go to Marej Bisri\, the magic valley. \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous \nEl Marej is a wonderful place for hiking; our hike will be divided into 2 levels: \nLEVEL 4 (approx.9km) it is a downhill and straight beautiful trail. Will start from Roman Stairway at 620 meters elevation. We will experience the fascinating Lebanese wild nature with its colorful trees and herbs\, chirping birds\, fresh breeze and rushing water. The scenery is really beyond description. We will have enough time for meditation\, photo shooting and fun. We will have lunch at the bridge above Al Barouk River and then we will continue to Marj Bisri. \nLevel 5 (approx.13 km) is a bit tough. The view you get to see from the valley is beyond imagination. Will start from Mazraat El Chouf village at 825 meters elevation and take a trail between the old olives trees that leads to Roman Stairway. We will pass by many springs\, wells and cross many bridges. We will have lunch together beside the river\, rest a bit and then continue to Bisri village.   \nLevel 6 (approx.16 km) The extra part of that trail is Downhill at the beginning and at 920 meters elevation\, requires good physical strength. \nOn our way back to Beirut\, will stop in Joun at Deir al Mokhales Monastery. It is an old and historical monastery atop a hill overlooking beautiful views. It was built in 1711\, and stands on an even older site. There is a beautiful church and a collection of icons\, manuscripts and religious objects with tomb of the monk Bchara Abou Mrad 1853-1930. \nDiversified? Yes! The “Hima” of Ibl el-Saqi pine forest is worth a visit. The views of Mount Hermon\, the old watermills and houses beside the river\, green lands\, old olive and oak trees and small Waterfall\, are all highlights of this trail. \nIbel El-Saki is one of the most important towns in the Mount Hermon area and offers a varied landscape it is considered one of the most enchanting places for hiking in the Hasbaya District\, especially near the river and during this season. \nHasbaya keeps its traditions alive and its workshops are still producing traditional clothing such as abayas\, caftans and turbans. Named in honor of Saint Mamas\, the town overlooks the Litani River and the medieval Beaufort Castle to the west and the snow-capped summits of Mount Hermon to the east. \nIn addition to the cultivation of grapes\, and figs\, Deir Mimas continues to be a major producer of olives and olive oil with 4 old mills\, 52 water sources and a waterfall. We can find there Tabsoun (طبسون)\, it is the Lebanese name for the Rock Hyrax a small furry brown animal\, unique in its morphology and social life.  \nQala’at al-Shaqif\, “Bel Fort” or “Beau Fort” in French\, Shaqif Arnun or Qala’at al-Shaqif in Arabic means Castle of the High Rock. It was a Crusader fortress captured by Fulk\, King of Jerusalem\, in 1139. Saladin captured it in 1190\, and 60 years later it was returned to Crusader control. In 1268 Sultan Baibars captured the castle. In the 17th century Fakhr-al-Din II took the castle as a part of his network of fortifications\, overlooking the plane of Marjeyoun\, the Litani river and the Nabatieh region. \nHIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy\, 4 to 6 for intermediate\, 7 to 9 for strenuous \nLevel 4 is intermediate; It is a beautiful and safe walking path of just 6 KM. We will all begin from the village and head to the vast forests to visit the Deir Mimmas (1404 A.C.) located at the upper part of litany river. The stunning mountainous landscape\, with trees seemingly defying gravity and growing on extremely vertical slopes\, is impressive. We will encounter many olive trees aged thousands of years\, we will visit the Waterfalls\, Tabsoun and pass-through trees and bushes. The last part of this trail is ascendant. \nAt this point\, we will split into 2 groups\, and level 4 will have a walk in the village crossing water sources\, old houses and old narrow stone staircases and at the end we will take the bus to Tallet Allie to meet the other group. \nLevel 5 (11 Km) will walk a vertical trail to Tallet Allie. Your eyes will capture panoramic views\, even Cyprus\, Israel and Syria can be seen from this spot. You will return back on another route to meet Level 4 and walk along a track rich in beautiful views. \nLater on\, you will visit “Beaufort Castle”\, a historical fortress in “Arnoun” village overlooking the whole region. \nDeir Mimas hike is not just a hike; it is a cultural tour as well.\n\n\nProtect yourself and others around you by knowing the facts and taking appropriate precautions: \n   Distancing from each other is a must. \n   Cover your nose and mouth with your face masks. We will take the path near “Shir el Ahmar“\, passing through tree forests that will lead us to Mazraet Rachtamout and the Church of Martmoura. After refilling our bottles with fresh water\, we will walk uphill and have lunch at Nabeh Ozit. Afterward\, we will take the bus to a huge waterfall at “Nabeh El Keif” where you can take unforgettable pictures. \nLEVEL 5 About 11 Km\, will continue from Nabeh Ozit. We will take an amazing uphill trail following a water pipe where the stunning mountainous landscape is impressive\, with trees seemingly defying gravity by growing on extremely vertical slopes.  We will reach the great waterfall of Nabeh El Keif where we will meet the other group and head to Mazraat Teffah village. The most beautiful views you can ever imagine will lie in front of you. \nLEVEL 6 About 12 Km\, will then take a path downhill and will cross a narrow bridge that is high and open on both sides. Then we will pass by a spring and mill “Ziret Et Tine” with a beautiful water reservoir in the rocks. The views are remarkable. You just have to be there to believe! From there we will continue uphill to meet the rest of the group at the great waterfall then to the village. \nOn our way back we will stop at Bnachaeh Lake where there is a Wildlife Taxidermy Museum. It is a great place to end the hike. \n  \nLive it up!
