DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT:
========================
Tannourine is home to over 70 000 ancient cedar trees such as the ‘’Cedrus Libani’’ species, a variety of pines, poplars, and other tree species like Cupressus, Pinus, Abies, and Populus
It is believed that some of these trees can sometimes age between 1000 and 2000 years.
HIKING LEVEL. 1 to 3 for easy, 4 to 6 for intermediate, 7 to 9 for strenuous
Level 4 (5.5 KM – 3.00 Hours approx..) is an easy and pleasing trail. We will start from “Seiiar El Osoud”. We will take an uphill trail for about 50 m to reach “Harf El Mil”. Then we will continue the second part of our path of 4 km downhill, crossing many ruins of old houses till we arrive at the upper part of Cedars Reserve of Tannourine. We will enjoy the fresh air and watch the beautiful summer sunset. The stunning mountainous landscape, with cedars seemingly defying gravity and growing on extremely vertical slopes, is impressive. The scenery is just great. We will discover the old landmarks of the area like Cornet Saint Simeon.
After completing the trail, we will gather near a bonfire near the Phoenician temple and will have the opportunity to taste and eat manaqish 3a saj and boil tea, and baked potatoes cooked by local villagers.
This sunset hike is not to be missed. It will imprint unforgettable memories of a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Don’t let any adventure go by untried. Live your life to the fullest!
